一句 (Yījù) — Privacy

Last updated: 11 June 2026

The short version: your study data lives on your device, and — if you turn on sync — in your own Google Drive. There is no account, no server of ours holding your data, and no advertising or tracking SDK.

What the app stores

Everything you create in 一句 — imported texts, saved vocabulary, review schedule, highlights, notes, reading progress, settings — is stored locally in your browser's storage on your device. We cannot see any of it.

Google Drive sync (optional)

If you connect Google Drive, the app stores a copy of your study data in your Google account's hidden application data folder, so your other devices can pick it up. Only 一句 can read that folder; it does not appear among your normal Drive files, and the app cannot see anything else in your Drive (it requests only the drive.appdata scope). The sign-in token is held in memory for the session and never written to disk. Disconnecting stops syncing; you can also remove the stored data at any time from your Google account under Settings → Manage apps in Drive.

Translation (optional)

Word lookups and pinyin are fully offline (the CC-CEDICT dictionary is bundled). Sentence translation is opt-in and comes in two forms:

What we collect

The site may use Cloudflare's cookieless, anonymous analytics to count visits (no cookies, no fingerprinting, no personal data). The app itself sends us nothing.

Backups

Backup files you export are plain files on your device, under your control. Treat them like the data they contain.
